8/13/2010 – From Darwin: N7RVS just informed me about the Navajo code talkers special event station this Saturday and Sunday
(14th & 15th). They were instrumental in the war with Japan. They sent coded messages in Navajo, which the Japanese
could not break. Because the Navajo language at that time was unwritten.
There are not too many of them left. This is a real opportunity to make a QSO
with them. I did last year. Their call is N7C and they will be on 40 meters
and 20 meters. 7.265 and 14.265mhz, 1300z to 2400z (7am to 6 pm) Sat/Sunday. 73's (Note: ARRL posting says “Aug
14-Aug 15, 0600Z-0600Z, N7C” which is midnight Friday to midnight Saturday.)
7/18/2010 –
Barry and Dean put the 147.100/Beesting repeater back online to the linked
system this week. Thanks for all you
guys do! It is already being used by
many again!
7/8/2010 – Dean – W7DHH, Jeff – KE7DCJ and Barry –
WB7REL trekked to Monroe
Peak for some repeater work to improve the 146.86 machine and
install a UHF repeater to reconnect Glendale/Hatch 146.72 in the near future
(447.450/114.8). Thanks to these folks
who donate this time, equipment and expertise!
6/21/2010 – Barry Bradley (WB7REL)
has provided an update on several repeaters status and projects. See it here.
